I upgraded VirtualBox and Windows (from 4.x/7 to 5.x/10). I used this the Windows 7 / VirtualBox 4.x combo on my iMac for years in seamless mode, perfect.
Now after the upgrade Seamless mode does not work anymore. When seamless mode is enabled Windows 10 goes full screen (the OSX Dock and OSX Menu bar stay visible, so it is not the same as VirtualBox 'Full-Screen' mode). But the complete Win10 desktop stays visible including its background and icons.
VirtualBox 5.0.4
Windows 10 Guest 64-bit (4 GByte)
OSX 10.10.5 Host 64-bit (24 GByte)

You are correct. Seamless mode does not work with Windows 10 guests. Check back when Windows 10 is officially supported.
