Greetings,
I'm new to this forum and this topic came up before, please point me in the right direction.
I'm using windows 10 as a host and VB 5.0.4 r102546. I'm in process of setting up Host-only Network.
I follow the instructions by going to File->Preferences->Network and Host-Only Networks (tab) and Create.
I set up the Host-Only Network Details dialog box and set my IPv4 Address and IPv4 Network Mask.
IPv4 Address: 192.168.56.1
IPv4 Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
VB successfully created the connection in Windows Network Connections.
However if I close Preferences screen and reopen it and try to edit my connection
IPv4 Network Mask: is reset to 0.0.0.0
and there is an Invalid settings detected warning:
Network: Host-only Networks page:
Host interface VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter does not currently have a valid IPv4 network mask
and my Ubunty VM fails to start with the following error:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Ubuntu64_1.
Failed to open/create the internal network 'HostInterfaceNetworking-VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter' (VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND).
Failed to attach the network LUN (VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)

Not sure if this is Windows 10 problem or VB issue. And if there are any workarounds.
