[SOLVED] Foldersharing doesn't work with Vista x86 guest
The folder sharing feature is now completely broken for me. In the last version I also had a lot of trouble to get this feature working, but with the 1.6.2 the feature doesn't work for me.
I've created 3 folder share for my 3 real partitiones (C_DRIVE, D_DRIVE, E_DRIVE).
After installing Vista as guest and Installing the Guest Extensions I can't connect the network drives. Using the Windows Wizzard or the command prompt both fail (network not available).
With the former versions I also had a lot of trouble. The Wizzard allways failed, but with the cmd I was able to mount a share. But I had to restart the geust to see the shares and they were not connected. I had to remap a drive and now i was bale to use the prev. created shares. So the sharing works, but not very comfortible.
But with version 1.6.2 I can't get the feature working.
Any ideas why I can't use the sharing feature under a Vista guest?

I said everything in post 1
When I try to map the shared folder I'm getting the message "network not available" even if I run it from an cmd prompt or when i try to map it with the entry on the context menu of the computer/network icon from the desktop.
I've installed no extra driver for the Intel 1000, I've used the included one.

That happen to me too. I'm using Windows XP Media Center 2005 SP3 as host, Windows XP Professional XP3 as guest. The share folder never work for me.
I try use both NAT and Host TUN TAP device. My guest device was set to Intel 1000 MT Desktop with driver downloaded from Intel.
The networking is work correctly. So, my workaround is enable share folder from host via windows sharing, then map drive in guest.
I use VirtualBox 1.6.2.
