I was experiencing problems using shared folders with version 1.6.0. Today I upgraded the host, Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, to VirtualBox 1.6.4. I created a new virtual client and did a fresh install of Windows XP SP2. Installed GA 1.6.4 and everything works except for the shared folders. After trying many suggestions on other threads and getting no improvement, I followed the suggestion in this thread, removed GA 1.6.4 and installed GA 1.6.0. Now the shared folders is working. Not sure if anything else broke, but this seems better. Not sure why I was having problems with the original virtual client, but did note that when I installed the 1.6.4 upgrade, it removed GA version 1.5.0 so I must not have upgraded properly when 1.6.0 was installed.

Has this been reported on a trouble ticket?

All of you might add comments to http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/1915 . We are actually trying to debug this problem but cannot reproduce it.
