viruses / dual screen / office

Post by pushka »

Hello, i have 3 questions// do you have any expiriences with these?

-------

with viruses.. i heard you can turn of network / internet connection to virtual box..
can you also block USB drives from autoruning on xp?
(some viruses only need a USB plug in to install on xp os)

------

can you install Microsoft Office 2007 and run powerpoint presentations on dual screen with ubuntu?
does the program register with lynux enough to present on dual screen ?
(projector)

thanks~~~

No, that is not possible from VB. You can however prevent VB to grab any usb device by disableing the USB controller. If you want to disable autorun on those devices, I suggest you install MS Powertoys TweakUI and disable all autorun options for all media (or leave the box ticked at which is your virtual cdrom).

VB cannot use dual monitor, there is no support for it. You can run VB in full screen on the second monitor and run the presentation on it, but you can't span or clone your VM to both monitors so it sees them as seperate displays.
