Issues Installing a Win7 Virtual Box on Yosemite

Hello,

I recently started a new job and (one) of my work PCs is a Mac. I'm trying to get a few VMs up on it for easily testing things, however I've had no luck getting Windows 7 to install via VirtualBox. Currently my issue is that BOOTMGR cannot be found during setup, so I cannot install Win7.

I am booting/installing from a burned .ISO that I've confirmed is bootable. My optical drive is an external USB, which I've read can pose some problems. VB recognizes the optical just fine when I boot the VM but I hit a dead end after that.

Suggestions? Happy to provide additional info as needed.

In order to better understand the problem you need to submit some more information. Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance. As far as the VBox.log.zip goes, here's what you do:
- Start the VM.
- Record the error message. EXACTLY. Post a screenshot if you have to.
- Shut down the VM.
- Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Select "Show Log..."
- ZIP it and attach it in your response.

Error - CDBOOT: Couldn't find BOOTMGR.

Apologies for missing that.

Well, a quick search at the internet shows that a lot of people have this error in physical hardware as well. It usually comes from bad-burned DVDs. You mentioned that you burned this DVD from an ISO. Why don't you try to boot directly from the ISO instead? See if that solves it...
