can I remove the "unidentified network" message?

Post by gerinimo »

I am getting a message of "unidentified network"

Currently I have a cable plugged in. Not connected to any wireless network.

I can connect to the Internet and VirtualBox is fine

I wonder if re the first screenshot, one of the reasons for unidentified public network, is the network adaptors listed, and one of them is vmware.. so i'm wondering if I can fix that so vmware isn't "unidentified".

For VMware stuff you'd have to ask VMware. But the Virtualbox Host-Only Network also appears in Windows 7 at least as an Unidentified Network. There is a fix to allow Host-Only to be one of the trusted networks. see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27924 I think that link covers the issue.
