Difficulty accessing the shared folder on guest Windows XP
I have a Windows XP host and one of my guests is also windows XP. On that one, accessing the shared folder is very difficult. It is extremely slow at best and it usually freezes both host and guest at worst. I haven't managed to make any use of that shared folder so far. What is wrong?

Skada, you need GA if you want to use SF. So he already installed Guest Additions.
Simbeb, what settings do you have, system specs of the Host. Perhaps there is something on your system that causes these errors.

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2 on an Advent 9515 laptop with an AMD Turion 64 Dual Core 2Ghz and 2Gb RAM. The guest OS is Windows XP Pro SP2 with 768Mb RAM allocated. I must admit though that the shared folder is an entire 20Gb partitioon, would that influence its accessibility?

I doubt the size would matter, as I use a 10 GB partition as a shared folder, a 70 GB one and a whopping 450 GB and no problems with the speed. Is the Guest running for a long time, as in, from older versions of VB? If so, try a clean install of the guest, it might help with the issues. Also be sure to keep the GA up to date with the VB version.
