Hi! Hope I'm not posting in the wrong place and thank you in advance for your time and attention.

My server has 2 network cards, 1 is connected to the LAN that sees the SERVER and I want to use the other card to connect to a VLAN to see the VIRTUAL MACHINE only, bypassing the SERVER as the vlan should have no access to it. What are the needed settings so that the vlan connected to that second card doesn't "access/share" the HOST only the GUEST?

Host: Windows 2008 Server R2
Guest: Lubuntu 14.04

If I understand this right, You want the HOST OS on the server to only see one network card which it will use but not see the card the VM is using?

If so, I don't think this is possible as I would think the HOST VM has to have access to the Network Card in order to pass the traffic through to the VM. I could be wrong on that though.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will pipe in if this isn't the case.

You could setup some kind of firewall rules on the Host OS though to keep anything but the virtual machine from accessing the card however to accomplish effectively the same thing.

Yes you can do that, but you do it from the network settings in the host, not in VirtualBox.

On the card which the host uses, clear the check mark from the box for VirtualBox NDIS Bridged Networking Driver. This reserves this NIC for the host.
On the card which the guest uses, clear all the checkboxes except the bridged networking driver. Only the vm can use this NIC.
