Two Windows 2012 R2 Servers on different hosts get same IP
Posted: 20. Sep 2015, 04:37
Hi!
I'm having an issue with these two servers. My setup is as follows:
I got a home LAN, on it there are two PCs (and other devices, but that's irrelevant for this matter).
On each of these PCs I installed VirtualBox, and on each machine I installed a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard VM.
When I don't change the IP setup (to static or other), the machines both connect to the internet properly.
However, they don't see the local network, they get a 10.x.x.x IP address, and worse of all, they get the SAME IP. (VM1 and VM2 which are on separate hosts). I already tried to release and renew the IP on both VMs to no avail. Network adapters on both are set to NAT.
Here's a ipconfig text from one of them:
I hope you can help. I cannot use the internal network option, as it uses the virtual network adapter driver - and assumes the guests are on the same host - which in this case they are not.
Please help. thanks!
