VB 5.0.4 with GA in Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon. Win 10 Home host.
GA install:
apt-get purge virtualbox-guest*
reboot
rmmod vboxguest vboxvideo vboxsf
in /lib/modules/<kernel rev>/updates rm vbox*.ko
run VBoxLinuxAdditions.run from 5.0.4 ISO
VLC player will play video with normal sound but will not take any input (mouse or keyboard) at all.
Totem will play and take input, but the video pane overlays anything that might cross into it.
The video pane will resize with the app, but remains in place if Totem is minmized.
glxinfo has a bunch of things that cannot be found in the mesa table.
But it also does show Humper/Chromium so 3D accel video is available (and does work.)

Re: Video in Cinnamon
Using VB 5.0.6 with matching extension pack and matching guest additions installed.
Host: Windows 10 Home 64-bit with 2.4GB free (machine has 4G).
Guest: Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.2 64-bit (assigned 1.6GB).
VBox.log : VBoxHardening.log : guest-settings.txt : glxinfo.txt
attached as zipped archive.
glxinfo does show some errors which appear on the console output but are not part of either standard error or output.
Upgrade to 5.0.6 from 5.0.4 did not change the problem.

Re: Video in Cinnamon
I happened to have a Mint 17 Cinnamon available, which I tried and saw none of the symptoms that you describe. I compared your logs and your setup with mine. Several things that I noticed:
Your graphics card (Intel HD), might not be powerful enough to support the full gamut of the OpenGL extensions. There have been several reports about problems with this type of cards in these forums. You might want to disable the 3D acceleration and see how that goes. Don't worry, you won't miss too many features...
You have a gazillion of the above messages referring to the OpenGL library. I can't recall having seen this previously (maybe others have). Not sure what to make of it. Maybe, maybe it is related to the following point.
You have a lot of messages about hardened security. Besides the huge VBoxHardening.log, the one that caught my eye was:You might want to check this. Plus you also have several warnings about system DLLs in VBoxHardening.log. It wouldn't hurt you to run the "sfc /scannow" command to fix any issues that you might have with your system.

Re: Video in Cinnamon
The host driver for this particular flavor of the Intel HD Graphics world implements only some OpenGL extensions. It isn't that the hardware is incapable, but the driver in Win 10 is meant for DirectX and its ilk and OpenGL is the only partially supported stepsister. That is the reason glxinfo spits out much unhappiness. The unsupported extensions make quite a video mess.
As an aside, when run raw directly against the hardware, the wireless RTL8188EE nic can only be partially seen by Mint 17.2 as well. It finds beacon frames but can't associate with an AP.
As an further aside, Fedora 22 does not think accelerated video is present at all (yes, the GA 5.0.6 is installed; shared folders work). glxinfo there shows Gallium llvmpipe only. Fedora is 'conventional' and so is not loaded with lots of convenient but 'ugly' drivers and codecs as Mint is. Since Intel HD audio is present, I had to double-clutch the VM sound config to get sound at all (set 'Intel HD Audio', start and shutdown VM, and then set AC97 audio.)
This ASUS X200MA notebook has some hardware things that trend toward "Windows only". I'll have to play video on the host or in Totem in Cinnamon and learn to love it.
