I am in market to buy laptop running i7 with either 8 GB or 16 GB possible SSD drive if possible. Setup virtualbox with guest vm such Debian Lunix, Windows 2012 and Windows 2008, and Windows 7. Probably running 3 to 4 OS VM at a time.
Is 8 GB RAM enough or do I need to go 16 GB?

Assuming I intend to get the most out of this PC for as long as possible, I would not be happy with 8GB.

Just to add, if you find a laptop with user replaceable RAM, it's usually cheaper to buy it with less RAM and buy extra memory separately and install it yourself.

So 8 GB is not enough? looking at Leno Yoga 3 and Toshiba Satellite both RAM is not upgradable running i7-5500u.

Enough RAM? I'm not familiar with that concept. Almost as silly as "enough disk space", or "fast enough processor"!
