Unable to start Linux VM on Windows 7 Pro Host

The virtual machine 'Linux' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005). More details may be available in 'C:\Users\My_User\VirtualBox VMs\Linux\Logs\VBoxStartup.log'.


I have found that disabling the network and audio adapters do not help. Also, disabling the Symantic Endpoint Protection does not help either. I have done research I just cannot figure out what the problem is; I cannot get a VM to start up at all.

Try Googling for "KB3004394".

p.s. In future please provide log files as attachments, rather than pasted text. Ideally IMHO as zipped attachments.

So I am receiving a different issue now...

Logs are attached. Can anyone please assist. I need to get this up and running..

The virtual machine 'DCP Dev Workstation Template' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005). More details may be available in 'C:\Users\rh40037\Documents\Backup\Logs\VBoxStartup.log'.

Hmm. In fact it seems to me that you have the same issue with slightly different symptoms.

Did you read up on that Windows update problem?

Failing all else, you can always try reverting to VirtualBox 4.3.12, which is the last version which didn't do these hardening checks.

So how do I fix my windows to using newer versions of VirtualBox?
