[SOLVED]VBox 5.0.4 on Win 10 running LMDE = no sound

I cannot seem to get any sound from it... Unlike Ubuntu where it needs volume boosting for some reason (it's like 10% normal volume when toggled to the very right past 100%).

Linux Mint Debian Edition guest is running with the latest non-beta updates (sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade), as is Windows 10 64-bit Build 10240 host, and VirtualBox 5.0.4 stable release.

I even tried uninstalling the guest additions manually (sudo apt-get autoremove --purge virtualbox*), and installing the latest version (5.0.4 of course) from the ISO. Everything, except the sound works.

Even after boosting it past 100% and testing the "Analog Output (Built-in Audio)" I can't hear anything. Changing the guest sound settings was futile, as was having audio playing at the same time on host.

Anyone else experience this with other guest OS than Windows? I had quite the collection, but no time these days.

No comments? Can someone who runs anything other than Windows or Ubuntu please give their input on this?

In the Guest Terminal…
1. run alsamixer
2. hit F6 - select sound card (not Default)
3. Increase the volume - Master
4. close the Terminal

Should be good to go.

TYVM, it worked! What a simple bug...
