Hi everyone:

I had a virtual disk image of Windows Vista with SP1. But it crashed somehow when I ran it in virtualbox. I had no idea but restarted virtualbox. Unfortunately, this virtual image cannot be used any more. The error message is like this:

VMDK: inconsistency between grain table and backup grain table in 'E:\Vista VM\Vista.vmdk' (VERR_VDI_INVALID_HEADER).
VD: error opening image file 'E:\Vista VM\Vista.vmdk' (VERR_VDI_INVALID_HEADER).

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
HardDisk
Interface:
IHardDisk {fd443ec1-000f-4f5b-9282-d72760a66916}
Callee:
IVirtualBox {2d3b9ea7-25f5-4f07-a8e1-7dd7e0dcf667}

By the way, the virsion of virtualbox I use is 1.6.0.
Is there any way to make it available? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Were you able to fix this problem? I'm experiencing the same thing here.

Use the Guest install CD and the repair options/console, or a linux CD that can handle ntfs and check its state.
