Virtual disk compatibility w. 32/64

Post by nesredep »

Wondering...
Suppose I set up a dual boot machine with a 32bit Linux partition, and a 64AMD Linux partition, and had a third partition which is mounted on whichever system is booted up. (forgetting about swap partition, for sake of discussion).

If VirtualBox 1.6 is installed on both systems, would a Virtual Machine created by the 32 bit system be seamlessly compatible so that it could be used by the 64 bit system. Or would you have to go through the export/import procedures to move from one to the other.

I'm somewhat new to this, so I apologize if this is a dumb question.
