" be aware that Windows 10 is not yet officially supported " :
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

windows 10 is out since 29 july
when you think that frustrating phrase will be finally rubbered out from that page..?

cheers

If you look back through the forum you will find that Oracle doesn't (pre)announce timetables.

In this case the release of Win10 came at a bad time, because the devs resources were clearly focused on getting v5 out the door with a number of features people had been asking for, plus there was the problem of fixing the hardening issues on Windows hosts. Win10 compatibility was not the main priority.

Win10 support will come when it is ready.
You won't get any other information from Oracle, and we volunteers don't know anything more.

I explained why the situation at the time of the Win8 release was different.

And in any case, the release of Win8 was not problem free, though the problems I mostly recall were as guests rather than hosts (i..e. the need to have VT-x on the host even for the 32bit Win8 guest).

release build 10240 is from 29 july..
and there has been test builds since a year an more ago...

If you are just going to use this topic to repeat all the comments you've already made elsewhere then I'll just lock this one. In fact this topic really has no purpose at all: the devs do not reveal their future plans, so nobody can answer the original question - Windows 10 official support will come when it comes. If you want the devs to care about your opinions on the matter then buy a support contract.
