Hi all. Im very new to this and so I may ask some questions which are simple.
Im doing this more of a hobby rather than anything so some guidance would be much appreciated.
I am using vm on my windows computer to install oracle on a Linux OS.
However I set up all the parameters and install packages and so on. Once I save my machine and try to load it up later, the machine goes straight back to an install and its a case of starting over?
Can someone suggest on how to get around this so that I can get practicing?
Kind regards,
oracle reinstalls every time the machine is booted

Sure. The first thing is you have to reboot after the install and not save the state. Then you need to remove the install media from the virtual CD or it will boot to that every time.

A physical machine will do that too if you leave the CD in the drive. Release the install media from the virtual CD drive. The easiest way is to do it from the settings of the vm while the vm is shut down.
