VM stalls and doesn't boot

I was using in training class, and was told I should be able to boot the environment in VirtualBox. I was able to make a copy of a VM(vmdk) I was using in class, and for some reason I'm not able to get it to boot up. It worked fine in the class. I looked at the log files, and I don't seen any obvious errors. Any help is greatly appreciated. I can provide the log files if needed.
Version of VirtualBox installed (5.0)
Type and version of the Host Operating System (Windows 7 SP1)
Type and version of the Guest OS (Linux/Ubuntu 32-bit)
Problem:
What are you trying to accomplish: Boot the given vmdk
What did you expect and what was the result?: I expected a linux environment
Attempted Resolutions:
Have you searched the User Manual?: I searched the manual and followed the steps provided in creating a VM
What have you attempted and what was the result of each attempt? : The result would be that the environment would just hang.
Log files: If you are reporting a problem on the bug tracker or in the forums (please do not post log files to a mailing list unless you are asked to!) you should provide any relevant log files.
If you were able to start a virtual machine at all, please provide the most relevant log file from a machine which you ran, as it contains lots of useful information!
If you had an installation problem, please provide any installation log files (different systems have them in different places).
If your problem is about graphics in a Linux or Solaris guest, please include a relevant X server log. )
