Virtual Machine failed to start in Win 10 host 64bit

Post by san_crazy »

Hello Experts,

SO far I have been running VB 4.3.26 in Windows 8.1 host. I have installed Windows Server 2012 as guest.

Recently I upgraded Win 8.1 host to Win 10 Host 64 bit and when I tried starting the virtual machine I got below error:
Could not start the machine PS because following physical network interface were not found.
VirtualBox Host-Only EtherNet Adapter (Adapter 1)
You can either change either the machine's network setting or stop the machine
When I went into Network setting, I didn't find any Host-Only Ethernet adapter in the drop-down, the list is blank

I am really tensed as I can't uninstall then reinstall VirtualBox because in the guest machine a huge ERP is running which would take months to install again and I will lose everything which is there.
But it works when I unchecked the option 'Enable Network Adapter':

Could you please rescue me out of this ?

In the main VirtualBox window, go into the File menu > Preferences...
Then into the Network tab > Host-Only networks Tab
Press on the icon with a green + on it, you'll add a new Host-Only interface.
Edit the VM settings and make sure you select the newly created interface.
