VirtualBox Installation Problems

Post by shabi »

Hello,
I have been spending hours and hours trying to figure this out but I have hit the wall. Every time I download VirtualBox and open up the application, the screen says: "The left part of this window is a list of all virtual machines on your computer. The list is empty now because you haven't created any virtual machines yet." AND my user folder in my mac does not hold any VirtualBox VMs folder even though on my VirtualBox preferences, this is where it says it is located. I have tried downloading many versions but to no success. Can someone please please help me. I have to have this running by tomorrow and have no idea what to do. Thanks for all your help!

You actually have to create a guest, hence the message. I imagine you have to create a guest before the VM Folder will be created.

I have a .ova file that needs to be imported. Is that something that could work?
However, when I try importing, it says "Failed to import appliance /Users/UserName/classroom-vm.ova.
VMDK: Compressed image is corrupted '/classroom-vm-disk1.vmdk' (VERR_ZIP_CORRUPTED).
Result Code: VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80BB0004)

Well it would work if it wasn't corrupted. I don't know if it actually is or if it needs edited. Do you know how it was made?
