"Extension Pack" installation fails

Post by sndlt »

I'm on Windows 8 64-bit host running Virtual-Box. Trying to install "Extension Pack" on top.

But I get the following error.

"VERR_SYMBOL_NOT_FOUND - GetLastError=127"

Screenshot attached.

I did some search before this and tried changing file path name to shorter and disabling anti-virus/firewall.
Still doesn't work.

Please let me know if there are any other information or logs I can provide to solve this.

Thanks!

Well there you go. They do not match. The ext pack must match the version of VirtualBox that you have installed.

Hmm, when I do "check for updates," it says I have the latest.

I thought I got the latest for both Virtual-Box and Extension Pack, don't I?

Apparently not, let me reinstall them.

OR, is version 5 a whole new game? As in version 4 won't see 5 as an update?

Thanks.

5 is a new feature rich version and still has some issues. I would stick with 4.3.30 for now and let them iron out the issues first. 5.0.4 or 5.0.6 would be the one I would get when they are released.
