j5Creator Android Mirror don't work on VirtualBOX5.0.2

Post by picaosgeo »

Hello list,

I have one problem of android usb device on VirtualBox.
My problem happen when I start to use "j5Creator Android Mirror" on VM.

I have installed VirtualBox on a Mac running OS X 10.10.5. so that I use Windows 8.1 pro.
And I also installed Android Studio (newest version) and adb usb driver for Nexus5.
They are well working and DDMS also well connect to Nexus5.
But my "j5Creator Android Mirror" don't work.

Steps to reproduce is as follows,
(1) Start "AndroidMirror.exe" application
(2) Connect to Nexus5
(3) Automatically start to install AOA drivers
(4) VM lost "Android composite device" on the device tree
(5) Finally Android Mirror application fail to connect to Nexus5

This Sequence is not same as VMWare Fusion.
I'd compare VirtualBOX and VMware Fusion by using same VM(vmdk).
On VMWare Fusion,(4) don't occur.

Can anyone help me please?

Are you trying to start a VM inside a Windows 8 VM? Nested Virtualization is not supported, same for Android.

Thank you for a comment.
No I didn't. "AndroidMirror.exe" is not an Android VM.

I'd compare VirtualBOX and VMware Fusion by using same VM(vmdk).
Was the VM/vmdk file created in Fusion? If so, it most likely has the VMWare tools installed and they would not be compatible with VirtualBox.

If you are using the same VMDK, did you remove the VMware tools (if you had them installed)?
Also, VBox 5.0.4 is out - give it a try, it has many fixes for various problems.
