Virtual box 4.3.30 Fails to Load OVA on Yosemite 10.10.4

Hi,

I'm trying to run a pre configured Debian machine on my Mac Pro with Yosemite 10.10.4 on, I import the appliance successfully but when trying to start it I run into the following error:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XXX.

Unsupported version 17 of data unit 'cpum' (instance #1, pass 0xffffffff) (VERR_SSM_UNSUPPORTED_DATA_UNIT_VERSION).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
I'm using VirtualBox 4.3.30.
It works fine with the 5.0.3 test version of VirtualBox, but I'd rather use the older version.
Also, I had a friend of mine run it on her Mac air with Yosemite 10.10.2 on and it works fine.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks

I created it. But it is a simple pre configured debian Machine and it works fine on other systems/versions/etc

Are you trying to load a saved state created with a newer VirtualBox version with an earlier version of VirtualBox? That's not going to work.

No it was created with a 4.3 version on another machine I had. And I am not trying to load a saved state, the machine is brand new, just preconfigured.

And as I said, it works on the previous release of the OSX system on a friend machine, and it works on mine on the 5.0 test version, so I doubt it is a problem of retro compatibility or something related with the OVA.

Just to check, I tried to load some preconfigured machine I found online (with extensive documentation of their good work on the 4.3 OSX version) and the error is still the same.
I'm pretty positive it should be an error of compatibility between the older version of Virtual Box and the newest release of Yosemite, but I'd really love to stand corrected.

Finally, I just cleared all and installed the 4.3.26 version and it works fine. So it is definitely a problem of the 4.3.30.

Thanks :)
