E_FAIL (0x80004005) MediumWrap when trying to load ISO image

Ever since I did the upgrade to 5.0 (and now even with 5.0.2) I'm unable to even select an ISO image to mount:

As soon as the "Please choose a virtual optical disk file" dialog appears and I change the drive letter, the title changes to "Please choose a virtual optical disk file (Not responding)" and after a while VirtualBox crashes with "VirtualBox Manager has stopped working".

It doesn't matter which guest system I choose since the error also exists if a try to create a new guest.
