Cannot read memory location XXX in releases > 4.3.30

Recently I upgraded the host OS on my primary workstation from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro.
The client OS in VirtualBox is Windows XP. I also upgraded VirtualBox to 5.+.
The Windows 10 upgrade was easy and uneventful. VirtualBox opens normally.
I develop software using (gasp) Microsoft Visual Basic 6.
The Visual Basic editor opens okay. I can load my project with no problems. But, running the application inside of the editor does not work properly. Simple commands (such as "Format") return zero. Then, when you close the editor an error appears that says "Cannot read memory location..."
I duplicated the WIndows 10 update on two additional computers and the same problem exists on all 3 machines.
Rolling back to VirtualBox 4.3.30 fixes the memory problem and Visual Basic 6 works correctly.
But, the "Bridged Network Adapter" setting cannot be selected in this version of VirtualBox when running on Windows 10.
I have reverted two of my computers back to Windows 7 and everything works normally.
I am happy to test a solution to this problem. I really want to upgrade to Windows 10.
Thanks in advance
