I am a Newb to this software and my is USB always Busy!
I am new to using virtual box and I am experiencing problems using a USB Inside of my host. When I try to select the USB device (U.B game hub) It says that it is busy with a previous request and I can't use it. I have tried some basic fixes and none have worked. I tried following this video but In the video his computer recognizes the device VIRTUALBOX USB (3:12 in the video) and mine doesn't do this. I have tried adding the filters and following other instructions given to other members on here but I don't understand a lot of it and my situation is a bit different.
My host is Windows 8.1 and My guest OS is Windows XP 32bit. The version of Virtual box im using is 5.0. The USB device is for a game called U.B. Funkeys which requires the hub to be plugged in, in order to play the game.
I am a total newb and I really need walking through the solution if there is one as i'm out of my depth with this software and have no idea what im doing!
EDIT:Log is attached now

Yes I have tried that one
My computer never has the virtual box detection of 'hardware found'. im having the same problem a this: https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/11251
I have tried the following fixes:
- restarting my host, then starting my guest, boot it all the way up and then plugged in the usb (it shows as either busy or captured but when selected just gives me the error that it is busy with previous request regardless of the state it says it's in)
- Plugging in the usb before the the guest starts and wait for the computer to recognize it (it does) and then booting the guest
- adding blank filters
- deleting the blank filters
- adding filters specific to my device with the fields filled in by the device
- created a blank filter and filled in the specific detail from the device found in its properties such as the device id
- I have added the filter with the fields filled in and tried deleting all the info except the name and vendor id
- have downloaded the extension for my version of Virtual box
- tried getting my computer to eject the usb
- made sure nothing else is using the device

Not sure if this is relevant but when I unplug the usb from my host It still shows as an option on the list of devices in the guest.

Sounds like a bug, but I have very limited experience with USB. I'll let other contributors give you better advice.

The wrong extension pack has been installed. Version numbers must match.
Re: I am a Newb to this software and my is USB always Busy!
i thought i had... i spent ages looking for the one that goes with the 5.0 version of virtual box. Darn it. Would someone possibly be able to link me to the right extension pack?

You might as well install VB 5.0.2. The extension pack is on the same page.

Use this http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/ and select the version of VirtualBox installed then select the extension pack from there.

Or you could do what PerryG said if you don't want to update.

I can only see the 5.0.2 version and all the 4.*.* versions but i can't see one for version for 5.0.0? I think i will just update to 5.0.2 and then install that extension and i will let you all know what happens

Ok so i installed the right extension pack this time for my version and it says the device is captured until i try to select it. When i try to select the captured device it still says that the device is busy.
error is: 'USB device 'Radica Games Limited Mega Byte' with UUID {342017c6-9eeb-4e6d-9b2a-5f79385bd043} is busy with a previous request. Please try again later.

Re: I am a Newb to this software and my is USB always Busy!
I updated both Virtual box itself and the extension pack to version 5.0.2. It's still not working.
When Plugged in my host shows under devices 'VirtualBox USB' and in Virtual box the device is shown as captured. However when i try to select it, it says that it is busy. When the device is unplugged, it still shows in the manager as captured. I have tried changing the filter option 'remote:' from none to any but it still does not work.
I have attached a new log.
