Hi Tech Geniuses,
Here's the issue I need the help of a genius to solve...
Here's my video screen recording showing the error I get:
(Please replace the "DOT" with a period, and remove the space after the "/")
youtubeDOTcom/ watch?v=E--eOUWrKd4.
Basically, when I go to start the machine... it just loops back to the "Start Windows Normally" screen.
Any clue how to fix this?
What I've tried so far with no luck:
1. Opening the machine System>Motherboard settings and checking the box "Enable I/O APIC"

The video really tells us nothing of importance.
How was this VM created?
Please post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip, and attach the zip here.

Re: "Boot Loop Error!" - HELP! Need A Genius ASAP!
Thanks. Can you answer my question about how this VM was created? E.g. was it installed by you from scratch using a genuine Win7 installer DVD? Is is a generic Win7 or a branded (Dell, HP, etc) OEM version?
....
....
Edit: actually, now that I've looked at the log you can forget that question. Your problem is rather evident in the log.And so on, for a zillion more lines. Best guess is that you transported this VDI on a FAT formatted disk, and hence the file was truncated at 4GB(ish). Either that or transport on a disk that had insufficient space. In any case the VDI has been fatally corrupted. It must be restored from a backup or scrapped. [Edit2] Come to think of it, my attention is drawn to the " (1)" suffix on the VM name (implies copying of the VM folder?), and the "-disk1" suffix in the VDI filename - implying that a file splitter has been used to copy the VDI to portable storage, and then you should have (but didn't) use a file unsplitter to join the pieces together again? The file location (copied onto the desktop, rather than being tucked away in the "VirtualBox VMs" container) is also probably a clue. |

I'm not sure if this info helps.. but here's what's happening.
I've used 2 different programs to Unzip this file (machine I get comes in .zip file).
I've used Eazy Unzip... and it unzips the file... and then it stops and asks for a password (which there isn't one)... and then it continues again and I'm assuming downloads the "second half".
Now, I've then tried another program WinZip... and I'm also getting an error, but not asking for a password. Screenshots attached.

Well, clearly the zip is incorrect, as WinZip is telling you. This isn't something we can help you with: you need to go ask the source of the VM. See previous comments about FAT disks and disk with not enough space, as those can just as easily apply to a large zip.
