Creating a vlan network using bridged adapter in virtual box

Post by Herokiller »

Hi, I need to create a vlan network using the bridged adapter between the win7 enterprise(guest) and host. My host is having Marvel Yukon ethernet card and my VM is configured with Intel PRO/ 1000 MT Desktop adapter. I can see the vlan option is enabled in the guest os but still i dont see any option to configure the vlan id in it. I tried installing a trunking driver for the intel adapter (in guest os) but it say no intel adapter found. Am i doing anything wrong here? I am new to all this.

In one community they say that in bridged network if the guest os is capable it can send/receive the vlan packets. I couldnt find any documentation also for creating a vlan network. Here my network is having only one vm for now. so I am ready to try all the possiblities now.

AFAIK you will need to install the Intel drivers for the Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop adapter. The VLAN configuration option will then be available.
