LinuxHost->WindowsXPGuest: ThinkorSwim?

TDAmeritrade's ThinkorSwim platform being rather lumbering and unreliable in straight Linux, I've been trying to run TOS in an XP virtual machine, but the TOS login dialog appears white instead of dark will not connect even though every other app in the vm has full network access. Anybody have any experience with this combination of software? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.
