Running VBox 4.3.30 with Guest Extensions on MacBook Pro with OS X 10.10.4, and 3.5 GB for the VM. Had to install via ISO using Windows media tools approach. Took forever to install, but it came up. However, it only stays up for about 10 minutes at a time, then it freezes. Task Manager is quite CPU intensive for a while, but does eventually drop to 10-20 percent. But, for no apparent reason, it then freezes up. The cursor will indicate that it would re-size a window, by changing, but there is no response. No nothing.
I started with a Windows 8 Pro VM, upgraded to 8.1, then performed all the updates to get the "Get Windows 10" image to appear. I had had no problems with 8, nor the 10 Developer edition, but the "real" Windows 10 is certainly not working.
Any clues as to where to look for the problem?
Else, this weekend, I am going to load the DVD again and see if I can start over.
Thanks for any help

Re: Windows 10 Freezes
The first thing is Windows 10 is not a supported guest yet. That being said, you could try VB 5.0.0 or the 4.3.x test build and/or attach the vbox.log (compressed) for the guest.

Wary about test builds, as I use Windows 7 extensively on my MacBook. Just haven't heard of anyone else with same issue.

Re: Windows 10 Freezes
Well, it has been 16 hours, 4 desktops, numerous network connection methods, closing the laptop and moving it here and there, and it is still up. Why? You got me. Alas, I spoke too soon. Tried to Install Quicken 2014, and it never came back from its restart! So, attached is a .zip file containing two logs: the 17 hour log, and the 9 minute log where it simply froze up while the blue flag was there. I had slid to another desktop on the Mac while it was starting, and when I got back, it had dimmed, and the spinning dots weren't. Waited a few minutes, and then did a VBox shutdown of it, which also did not succeed, and I had to Force Quit it (first time for that!). Towards the end of the first log, there are numerous attempts to restart, all failing. Perhaps something useful is there.
