i have this weird problem that keeps happening each time i start a virtual os (i have win XP) inside Virtual box.
the virtual os starts up just fine. but after that i can never use my usb ports on my original system (win7) no matter what.
the only way to fix this thing is to reboot my host which is a very hateful process. i tried every thing, but nothing has changed.
can anyone help??

Re: Problem with USB
USB devices are passed-through devices, meaning they are one-to-one and if the guest gets hold of them the host will not be able to use them. Check you filters in the USB section of the guest.

Re: Problem with USB
thanks guys for reading my request.
although the answer i got didn't help me at all. i didn't know what to do to solve my problem. i am no expert at this at all
when i opened my guest OS, virtual box gave me this message that i didn't understand at all:
failed to access the USB subsystem.
could not load the host USB proxy service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). the service might not be installed on the host computer
could any one explain what's going on??

Re: Problem with USB
VirtualBox 3.2.14? Released in December 2011. Don't you think it's about time you downloaded a newer version? How else do you expect to benefit from bug fixes?
Look in the VM settings, USB area, and look for any device filters listed. If listed, delete them. If you can't make sense of this instruction then just disable USB support.

Re: Problem with USB
bro, you'r right about the old version ,but that's is not my fault (thanks to the F***ING revolution, late 2011 was the last time we had fast internet connection here in Syria),
i 'll look for a newer version.
concerning usb filter, i had disabled usb support before installing guest OS
but still get this stupid message (pic in attachment)

Re: Problem with USB
We'll need to see a log file from 5.0.0. I suggest that you zip it before attaching it, since you mentioned earlier that bandwidth is a problem.
