I installed Virtual Box 5.0.0 on my laptop host which is running Windows 7. Now I am trying to install Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon as a VM but I am getting error messages
here is the last one I got

The medium 'C:\Users\Gabriel\Downloads\linuxmint-17-cinnamon-32bit-v2.iso' can't be used as the requested device type.

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
MediumWrap
Interface:
IMedium {4afe423b-43e0-e9d0-82e8-ceb307940dda}
Callee:
IVirtualBox {0169423f-46b4-cde9-91af-1e9d5b6cd945}
Callee RC:
VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)

I have tried two different distros but I got errors both times. I am trying to use .iso files, and I'm not sure where I am going wrong. Please help.

Gabriel

Are you attaching the .iso to the CD/DVD controller in the storage settings for the guest?

Actually no, I'm not. Could you tell me how to do this or provide a link to a clear explanation?
Thanks for your help

Just go to the part of the settings that Lou mentions, it should be quite obvious. As a last resort you could even look at the user manual.
