Trouble installing Kali Linux using virtualbox

I am trying to install either 32 or 64 bit Kali Linux. I am pretty much a newbie with Linux. I say newbie because the level of detail/help needed is greater. I have a 64 bit HP that is currently running windows 7 professional. I am thinking maybe my ISO file is bad or corrupt. However I have downloaded multiple times and have done both 32 bit and 64 so I wouldn't think that. I don't know how to do the hash check (if that is something I should do). I thought I had found an old ticket that identified my problem but I had a hard time doing the solution (ticket/10785#comment:1). If you need more information please let me know.

I don't do off site lookups. Post the guests log file ( as an attachment )

What kind of attachments will the system take? I took some print screens and pasted them into word docs but doesn't take doc or docx.

I asked for the guests log file. Right click on the guest in the main manager and then click on show log. Save and post as an attachment.

Here is the 64 bit guest log. The 64 bit iso doesn't get very far. The 32 bit iso at least loads up and goes to the menue. The 64 bit loads up a error right way.

The following need to be taken care of ( the ext pack version must match the installed version of VirtualBox.

Your real issue is the file of CD is corrupt.

Did you create a CD or is this the iso file?

You should test the checksum with what it says on the download site and make sure they match.

I used an ISO from the site. Do u know if there is a good site that will tell me how to do a check sum? I have never done one. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for your help Perry! I update the extension pack and I will re-download the iso file and try out the hash check link that you share and post the final results.
