In pretty much the same was as any two programs running on the same PC will fight each other -- normally totally harmlessly.
I'm not convinced this is likely to cause a crash.

Maybe there is some sort of hardware incompatibility with windows guest? Should I try updating virtualbox, I guess a new version came out recently?
You could try 4.3.30.
Or even 5.0.2, though I think 4.3.30 is more likely to be bug free.

Will it say the same thing if I turn off automatic reboot or should I go ahead and do that anyway?

How do I upgrade it? There is no option in the synpatic manager in linux mint and trying the following commands didn't work, it didn't find the 2nd one:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install virtualbox-4.3.30

It hasn't given any problems in 1-2 weeks, before that it was probably rebooting daily. I didn't yet upgrade it to a newer version, so I wonder if it was related to the number of cores, as that is the only change I made? Although it did reboot once after that. Thanks for all the help.
