I am using Virtualbox 5.0.0 on Ubuntu 15.04. My guest system is windows 8.1, and I want to upgrade it to windows 10. But system check before upgade wrote me this:
the display manufacturer hasn`t made your display compatible with windows 10 (Virtual Box Graphics Adapter for Windows ).
How can I solve it? (solve it without complete reinstallation windows from bootable media)

I'd love to be able to upgrade my Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit guest VM to Windows 10 as well, but I haven't even got as far as getting the Windows logo upgrade checker in the Task tray...
My VM host is VBox 4.3.28 64-bit running on Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64-bit. I am using NAT networking only as I just use the VM for general Windows use and testing. Both Mint and Windows are fully up to date by their respective update tools, and Windows is set to automatically download and install all updates. Windows is an original full copy installed fresh in to this VM guest, and properly licensed and activated. It is the full 8.1 Pro 64-bit version, not enterprise or RT. There are no firewalls, no port redirects, I just can not get it to start the upgrade checker.
I've followed a number of checking routines on the web in the last two days. All their check routines return acceptible, correct and positive results, but so far, no luck.
I was beginning to wonder if the BIOS and hardware presented by VBox 4.3.28 is not compatible with Windows 10? But it seems that some people have managed to install the preview copy, whereas others have the upgrade checker but are having this VBox graphics driver problem. I'm wondering if upgrading VBox host to 5.0 would help as that exposes more CPU instructions, runs faster and has better graphics...? Can anyone help?

Moving this topic to "Windows Guests" since the discussion has nothing whatever to do with a Linux host.
There are at least two other threads discussing the VirtualBox Graphics Adapter upgrade issue. Please check before adding to topic clutter.

You don't need the dreaded "Get W10" pop up and never have. In reality most people who did and who made a reservation seem to have been too impatient to wait in the queue anyway; and have gone the alternative routes that are already well documented.
Just join the circus and do the same. Download an ISO or use Microsofts Media Creation Tool to perform the Upgrade, but make a backup copy of your Virtual Machine first.
