using usb joystick

have 8.1 installed on host, virtual machine within, with xp pro.
my thrustmaster T16000M joystick is not seen by control panel, in device manager under game controllers says
game port for thrustmaster ACM (second port)( dont know what ACM stands for)
properties says working properly.
comments please.
