Windows 10 Current Evaluation Version

Host operating system is windows 7. Virtualbox is version 5.0. Guest is Windows 10 Current Evaluation Version. Windows 10 evaluation comes in ISO format. It will not load directly as a Virtualbox boot cd. You have to load it on a local drive and attach to the local drive from Virtualbox. After that it installs fine. DO NOT INSTALL GUEST ADDITIONS as it will blow up Windows 10 with an "unsigned driver" error. There is no recovery for this, just a rebuild. Still testing.....

Nonsense.

There are many who have installed Windows 10 as a guest from the .iso and the Guest Additions.

Indeed. I did it quite recently. It even works with Win 10 as both host and guest.

It appears that Microsoft has temporarily blocked product keys from being able to activate clean installations of Windows 10 Insider Previews builds until July 29th.

See reproduced Twitter message from Gabe Aul: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5705 ... -10-a.html

However, that shouldn't affect installation with an ISO previously downloaded from the Microsoft Website, you just wouldn't be able to activate a new installation. But if the "Current Evaluation Version" mentioned is Build 10240, then that didn't come from Microsoft, so......

I have 3 fully working versions of Windows 10 VMS (updated to Build 240) and have experienced no problems at all. The only issues I have are with my Windows 7 and 8.1 Pro installations which, because of the non-recognition of the VirtualBox Graphics Adapter by Microsoft's Upgrade Advisor, are seemingly blocked from the Upgrade to Windows 10 path (in common with similar problems experienced by Parallels and VMWare users). The solution to that may be to wait for the official Windows 10 ISO to be made available to upgraders.

I had the same issue as Rococo.
Installed Windows 10 preview - no issues
Installed Guest Additions, VM won't boot, errors with Unsigned Driver error.

I tried upgrading a Win8.1 machine and had exactly the same results.
