I'm behind a heavy corporate firewall that uses proxy.
On my Windows host, I use VirtualBox to host CentOS/OEL and Ubuntu virtual hosts.
Each Linux virtual hosts have proxy configured in them individually.
I'm curious about the proxy in preference settings for the whole VirtualBox program.
I have two questions if I choose to use this.
(1) Does this make the virtual hosts proxy through the virtualbox program where I don't have to set proxy manually?
(2) Right now, with proxy, the VMs are on bridged mode with their own ip addresses. Other hosts can reach the VMs residing on my computer. If I choose to use VirtualBox's proxy, can this still work where my VMs are accessible not just locally to me, but to everyone?
Thanks.

Re: proxy usage: host vs virtualbox
IIRC the preference proxy is only for the VBox program to see if there are updates available. It does not have any barring on the actual guest/s

Thank you.
