Network issues using svr 2008

Post by ASETBELL »

I am after help

I have created a virtual network with several 2008 Servers and Win7 clients on a svr 2008 host. I have noticed that I can not see other network machines unless I have a Win 7 machine running. All machines are configured as bridged network. All works fine when a client is running but servers can not see each other if no client running.

Difference in builds are the clients have virtualbox installed on them as part of the initial installation asked for this to be installed, they also have a Virtualbox host only virtual network card. On the servers i was not prompted to install Virtualbox on them and i also do not have a virtual network card, if this is the issue how do I create a virtual network card on the servers?

Any help would be accepted gratefully.

Your description is not clear at all. Please make a list of your hosts and give them a name (even a fake one), do the same for the guests, indicate which guests runs on which host.
Also, zip up and attach a VM log file and the guest settings for each guest as described in Minimum information needed for assistance.
Make sure you only post a single zip file with all the info!

Having since posted the message and done some research I found it was caused by certain services being turned off on Server 2008 but by default turned on on Windows 7.
