I'm running an older Compaq desktop with an AMD Athlon II 170u processor. I'd like to use VirtualBox to create an instance of Linux FEDORA desktop, but the compatibility list seems to be limited to AMD 64's. Can I use VirtualBox on this machine?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Compatibility with Older AMD
According to the search I just did, that processor seems to have 64bit support and AMD-v, so the CPU should not be a barrier to creating any VM you want, at least until we get to Win8+. Of course the CPU is single core and relatively slow, so performance will not be great. Memory and disk space must be considered too.
Re: Compatibility with Older AMD
Thanks. : )
I think VB was aiming at the multi-core, hyperthreading 64's. I'm going to load it up and see if I can get an instance of Fedora workstation to run.
It will take a while, though. The VB download window is telling me it's an 8 hr. job! Lol!
Thanks again for your help.
