Ubuntu 14.04 VM not identifying bluetooth dongle

Post by Mike_CICD »

Hi Madam/Sir,
I am battling an issue for the past 2 weeks where I cannot get the Ubuntu 14.04 vm to identify/recognize the bluetooth dongle attached to my host which is windows 7. I have installed vb extension pack as well.
I also tried adding the dongle to the vm as 'Filter from device' and set 'Remote:Any' but still no use.
Windows host could identify the dongle and install the drivers but ubuntu vm just wouldnt recognize it. It is a bluetooth v4.0 compliant dongle.
My end goal is to connect ubuntu vm to a robot using BLE protocol, but this is a complete blocker.
I tried several options/solutions from vb forums but none of them proved effective.
Please help .... :(

Please read Minimum information needed for assistance and provide as zipped attachments the VM log file and the guest settings.
