Can't virtual boot Win7 PC - CPU issue

Hi All,

This is driving me insane. I have a windows 7 Dell Optiplex 3020, I have a virtualised image of this PC and need virtual box to run it. But as soon as it tries to boot, it gets a CPU error:

Code: Select all

Vt-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not able to boot.
I've checked whether the CPU is compatible and apparently it is according to Intel's ARK site. Can someone please tell me why it's not working, or if I need to source another PC please tell me what spec machine I need. This PC is critical in our DR plan and the fact that I can virtual boot a Win XP PC and not this new Dell is beyond me.

See attachments for details:
Virtualbox error - exact error showing in virtual box when I try to boot the image.
CPU - details of the CPU in the dell optiplex 3020
BIOS - Only 1 setting in the BIOS itself related to virtualisation support and this was already enabled.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

Something on the host may be "stealing" VT-X. See: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests
