I am using VirtualBox v4.3.28 r100309 and running Ubuntu 14.04 on my Windows 7 host machine.
The problem is when I scroll down on the mouse wheel too quickly it does a page up abruptly. If I scroll down at slower speed it works fine.
Scrolling up works fine no matter how fast I scroll up on the wheel.
I am seeing the exact same issues mentioned here on this ticket: Ticket #5672 (reopened defect) -- virtualbox(dot)org(slash)ticket(slash)5672 (can't post the link unless I have been a member for 1 day)
Is there any way to resolve this? I've tried unplugging the mouse and pluggin it back in but its had no effect with scrolling down too quickly with the mouse.
Mouse scrolling issue when scrolling too fast it does a PGUP

Fixed this issue, I ejected the guest.iso and inserted it again and it resolved the mouse scrolling issue.

I can't really see what possible relevance your fix could have, unless it's to stop some expensive task running.
Anyway that thing with the scroll wheel happens to me too, on physical hardware. I guess if you turn the wheel really fast by (say) -350deg then the driver can't tell the difference between that and +10deg. Obviously this will happen more often in high latency environments such as VMs: I assume the mouse wheel is a simple pot (but without end stops), so this would be all about sample rates, which are bound to be lower when the PC is busy with a VM or anything else.
I can think of ways to reduce this effect in a mouse driver, but I guess not all mouse drivers go to the trouble. You could try getting yourself a less cheapo mouse
Ideally one with a PS/2 connector, thus avoiding the (shared) USB bus.

Cheers on the advice. No need, as I said as soon as I performed the steps mentioned, I can scroll down as a fast as possible and the pgup does not occur at all. Totally fixed and hasn't happened again.mpack wrote:I can't really see what possible relevance your fix could have, unless it's to stop some expensive task running.
