getting error starting a vm

Post by db042190 »

Hi, I've never used this product before. I just unzipped a vm given to me by a peer and it appears it is a win 2003 32 bit machine. I added it to Virtual Box 4.3.28 r100309 and tried starting. I got the error you see below. I'm not finding the stuff on the net useful when searching this error . Can someone help? My box is win 7 sp1 64 bit. I ran virtual box as admin. I downloaded virtual box from virtual box's official site->downloads->virtual box 4.3.28 for windows ...x86/amd64

Failed to open a session for the vm xxxx.

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
ProgressProxy
Interface:
IProgress {c20238e4-3221-4d3f-8891-81ce92d9f913}

it looks like perhaps one of the files that represents a disk was omitted from the original zipped file.
