I need to create a Windows Server 2012 R2 cluster beased on two a Windows guest VMs in virtualbox (latest version).
Reading in the net I found it is possible using 2 Windows guest VMs and a third guest VM providing shared access to a storage via iSCSI.
I remember I was able to create Windows clusters using early VMware Workstation versions and using a shared disk.
Is there any way to create a shared disk accessed by two Windows guest VMs without crieating a third guest?

It looks what I am looking for.
However, where can I locate any additional documentation?
Given the guest VMs to be put in cluster will run Windows Server 2012 R2, should I attach the disk to a SCSI controller?
How should I confngure the controller and the disk?
I made some tests but after connecting to the shared disk the VMs are unable to start...

So basically, what you need to do (I haven't tested these commands):
1. Create your VMs and install 2012 on them, don't configure the cluster. Perform any configuration you want prior.
2. Shutdown both VMs.
3. Create a new disk either via the GUI in the Virtual Disk Manager or via CLI with

vboxmanage createhd --filename xxxx --size yyy

4. Mark the disk as shareable

vboxmanage modifyhd xxx --type shareable

5. Attach the disk to both VMs
6. Power on your VMs
7. Configure cluster
