Offline files in Windows XP Guest

Hello,

I'm using offline files from a network share (SBS2008) mounted to drive F: (\\svr\f) on my Windows 8.1 host.
I would like to be able to use these files also on my Windows XP guest.
I've set a shared folder to the guest (Path: F:, Name: F, automount, permanent).
Unfortunately it's not working when I'm offline.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you

Anduz

Show exactly the path you are using for the share? Hint: "F" is a filename, not a path. "F:\" would be a path.

From the manual, Chapter 4.3 Shared Folders
Shared folders must physically reside on the host and are then shared with the guest
which means you can't share a share.

I'm not sure the manual is correct there. It would be correct if we were talking a true network share, but I can't see why GA shared folders would care about the source media type, as long as the host OS provides a consistent API covering all media types - and I know that Windows hosts do.
