Cannot set up Bridged network adapter to MAC WIFI

Host OS - MacOS 10.7.5
Guest OS - Win7
VirtualBox version - 4.2.28 for MACOS

I need to use Bridged mode for networking instead of NAT becuase my Cisco VPN client will not work with NAT. I have not been able to figure out how to get bridged more working. In the Network config page of VirtualBox, I selected Bridged Adapter, Name: en1: Wi-Fi (AirPort), Adapter type: Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM), Promiscuous Mode: Allow All, MAC Address: 080027792CA4

I also tried Promiscuous Mode: Deny but no difference.

I assume the Adapter type is some sort of emulation so I didn't try to change it. I get the yellow bang on the network status in Windows.

Documentation implies that it should work, but it does not seem to work. I searched the forum and what I found seems to imply that it does not work with WIFI, but I couldn't find anything recent on this topic.

Thanks,

jeff

Basically: it all depends on the hardware firmware, your drivers and the wifi AP. Try by setting a static IP in the guest and see if you get any kind of IP communication with a ping. If not, I'm afraid that's it.
The other choice you have is to have a USB Wifi dongle dedicated to the guest.

FWIW, the settings the OP mentioned are identical to any of my guests using bridged on any of my Macs. make sure Cable Connected is enabled of course. I haven't used OSX 10.7 in a very long time so I don't remember if it was problematic. I do remember some users with certain models of Macs had trouble with bridged. I wasn't one of them. Also some routers seemed to make a difference.
