[Solved] How to restore VMs when I uninstall and install VB

Post by fulloferror »

Originally, I installed genymotion together with Virtual Box.
Later I installed Andy, which is another Android Emulator also using Virtual Box. The installation is not successful.
Then the Virtual Box can not start any device.
I tried the repair function, but failed. It said " The account already exists"
So I wonder how to restore the emulators I created when I uninstall and install Virtual Box Again?
Thanks.

"The account already exists" is not a VirtualBox message. Perhaps if you posted a screenshot it would be clearer what you are referring to.

If you create some VMs, and then uninstall and reinstall VirtualBox then the VMs will still be there.

We are not affiliated with Genymotion in any way - if you have some questions about their services then you need to ask them about it.

The language is Chinese. I hope you can understand. The information is shown when the repair process proceeds in the middle.

Sorry, but no I do not understand that. Plus it is an image so I also cannot translate it.

So let's try something else.

Uninstall VirtualBox completely. Then reinstall. If you continue to have problems then post the log file from an affected VM: Right click VM in GUI, select "Show Log", save "VBox.log" (only) to a file, zip the file and attach the zip here. Make sure the VM is shut down before you collect the log of the session.

Note however that if the problem is internal to Android OS (e.g. if "account" refers to a gmail account), then I'm afraid we can't help you. You would need to ask on an Android forum.
