W7 host W7 Guest
Just installed a W7 guest for first time and audio and internet do not work. I get 'install a driver for your network adapter
Audi 'hardware changes may not have been detected'.
I am pretty sure the settings are the same for my XP machines.

I am pretty sure the settings are the same for my XP machines.
Well that would be a mistake, especially for the network. Why did you change the default settings?

Well the two are different. XP uses pcnet iii and Windows uses the intelpro 1000 desktop.
From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.
Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

See image above. It may be a bit cut off at the end so you may want to right click it and go to the source.
